Since its first release in 1959, Penfolds Bin 28 has celebrated the richness of warm-climate Australian Shiraz. Originally sourced from the renowned Kalimna Vineyard in the Barossa Valley, it has evolved into a multi-region blend, with Barossa fruit continuing to form the heart of its bold, generous character. The 2022 vintage opens with layers of dark berries, black plum and liquorice, complemented by hints of milk chocolate, baking spices and savoury herbs. A plush palate of ripe black fruit is framed by subtle oak, lively acidity and fine tannins, creating depth, balance and an effortless drinkability. Rich yet approachable, it finishes long and poised, making it an excellent choice to enjoy now or cellar through to 2045.

Since its inception, Penfolds Koonunga Hill has always aimed to deliver quality, value and consistency. The original 1976 Koonunga Hill Claret is a legendary wine that is still drinking well today. Koonunga Hill Shiraz joined the range in 2002, a contemporary reflection of Penfolds multi-regional sourcing philosophy. The Penfolds Max's range pays tribute to the winery's first Chief Winemaker, Max Schubert, celebrating his relentless pursuit of excellence and the enduring philosophy of sourcing the finest fruit from Australia's best wine regions. Max's Shiraz Cabernet continues that legacy with a contemporary take on a classic Australian blend. Layers of blue fruits and cranberry are complemented by graphite, vanilla, juniper and pink peppercorn. The palate is refined and savoury, revealing salted plum, black olive and fresh spearmint, with fine tannins and a flowing texture leading to a long, elegant finish.

Originally known as 'Red Winemaking Trial', Penfolds RWT Bin 798 Shiraz has evolved from its early 1990s development project into one of the winery's most distinctive Barossa Valley Shiraz releases. Launched in 2000, RWT offers a refined alternative to Grange, focusing on aromatic intensity, plush texture and the seamless integration of French oak. Sourced from select Barossa Valley Shiraz vineyards, the 2019 vintage reveals layers of floral notes, glazed berry fruits and rich pastry-like aromas, complemented by savoury hints of cured meats, thyme and finely integrated oak. The palate is concentrated yet elegant, with dark cherry, blackcurrant and quince flavours balanced by cocoa-like tannins, subtle spice and a refined structure. Approachable now, it has the depth and balance to reward careful cellaring for years to come.

A true Penfolds classic, St Henri Shiraz offers a distinctive alternative to the renowned Grange style. First released in the 1950s, this time-honoured wine remains proudly independent of fashion, crafted without new oak and matured in large seasoned vats to preserve the purity, texture and character of exceptional Shiraz. The 2018 vintage reveals a complex bouquet of black olive, wild rocket, fig, rhubarb, cinnamon and savoury Mediterranean notes. The palate is rich and layered, with flavours of white plum, fresh fig, liquorice and toasted pumpkin seed supported by finely etched tannins and refreshing acidity. Plush yet refined, St Henri combines generosity with remarkable longevity, rewarding both immediate enjoyment and careful cellaring through to 2055.

Pepperjack Mid strikes a balance between the art of traditional winemaking that Pepperjack is renowned for, and the science of cutting-edge de-alcoholisation and flavour retention technology. Still bursting with quintessential Pepperjack character, this mid-strength wine displays aromas of blackberries and plums with hints of pepper and spice. The palate is rich, round, and soft with concentrated berry fruits and soft velvety tannins.

A tribute to the Barossa's winemaking heritage, Pepperjack is crafted using a blend of traditional techniques and modern flair. Winemaker Richard Mattner - a born-and-bred Barossa local - loves making Pepperjack wines as much as he loves drinking them, especially alongside a great steak. As he says: "Why would I need anything else?" Deep dark red with a vibrant purple rim, the nose bursts with rich aromas of blackberry, blueberry, dark chocolate, mocha, and spice.
