For years, Richard Emerson has had big plans to brew beers under the name 'Deafinition'. Unfortunately, these plans went off the rails. You see, Richard is easily side-tracked. And the culprit is, almost always, trains. So, while he's off doing the locomotion, Emerson's are brewing Deafinition beers for him. Chasing Trains is one of Richard's favourite styles. A barley wine that'll warm the palate, with fruity hoppiness, citrus and toffee flavours, and a wine-like mouthfeel. Yes, it's a real trainspotter's beer.

The adventure doesn't have to end when you get home. Day Tripper is a low carb beer that's as intrepid as you are. Brewed with a combination of hop pellets and hop oil, for better mouthfeel, balance, fruitiness, and complexity. Dunedin is a Penguin Town. But it may not stay that way, unless we all step up to help. Our iconic hoiho are critically endangered, with an estimated 143 nests remaining on the mainland and Rakiura, a number that drops dramatically every year. This is Emerson's fourth amber liquid in aid of yellow-eyed penguins, but it won't be their last. This NZ Pale Ale is easy-drinking, with vibrant notes of stone fruit, and a biscuity malt backbone. Keep saying yep to YEPs.

A hallucinatory, mind-bending, consciousness-expanding, dream-like experience is not what you'll find in this can. It's just a beer, man. But, this cloudy IPA does have a gnarly hit of Riwaka, Simcoe, and Mosaic hops, with a tropical citrus flavour, and a totally piney finish. At least it's a trip for your taste-buds. Far out.

Little Bird is an alcohol free IPA, with a deliciously-puritanical, true expression of the hop flavour. It's so tasty, you won't even realise you're not drinking. Until the morning, of course. Dry hopped using New Zealand and USA hops for a super-fresh, super vibrant aroma, with a super-crisp, super-quenching finish.

The Orange Roughy's scientific name is Hoplostethus atlanticus. Which roughly translates as, hazy, hoppy pale ale with a tropical fruit aroma, citrus flavour, and malty backbone. In the past, the roughy has been subject to unsustainable practices - completely selling out. Thanks to the hard work of our brewers, numbers are now on the rise. Careful you don't exceed your quota, though.

Epic BLUE Low Carb Pale Ale delivers crisp refreshment with less than half the carbs of Epic Pale Ale. A blend of Pale Ale and Pilsner malts creates a light golden body with subtle malt sweetness, while carefully selected hops drive its bright, signature aroma. Fire Horse is this year's annual fresh hop release from Epic. Using fresh Riwaka hops from Eggers Hop Farm in upper Moutere, the hops are picked at peak condition and flown same day from farm to brewery, then brewed the same day while their oils and aromatics are at full intensity. This narrow harvest window is the only time a beer like this can be made during the year - capturing freshness, energy, bold juice and aroma that simply doesn't exist outside the season.
